Barrie, Ontario (CAN) / Rudolstadt (GER), May 4, 2026Polytives GmbH, a specialist in the development and production of polymer additives, is starting a partnership with the established Canadian distributor Simcoe Plastics Limited. The young German company is consistently expanding its international presence: Simcoe Plastics will take over the distribution of Polytives additives in Canada effective immediately. A joint expansion of sales activities to further regions in North America is also planned.

This partnership combines cutting-edge technology from Germany with Simcoe Plastics’ 46 years of market expertise. While Polytives provides solutions for more efficient plastics processing with its additives, the consulting and sales oriented Simcoe Plastics serves as the central point of contact and ensures expert support directly on-site. This provides Canadian plastics processors with direct access to the high-performance additives from the Thuringia-based company.

The conditions are ideal: Canada is considered a key future market for German industry[1]. Furthermore, Canada is currently making massive strides in expanding recycling capacities for critical raw materials and plastics[2]. This creates a growing demand for technologically sophisticated solutions, which Polytives addresses with its expertise.

“Canada is a key strategic market for us, one that actively drives innovation and sustainability,” explains Viktoria Rothleitner, Managing Director at Polytives. “We are counting on our partner’s many years of experience to help us successfully enter this important market.”

“Our customers in North America are increasingly looking for ways to make their production more sustainable without compromising on quality,” says Kurt Stahle, President of Simcoe Plastics Limited. “With Polytives’ innovative additives, we are providing them with high-quality materials for more efficient and resource-saving processing.”

Polytives' additives reduce the carbon footprint in production by, for example, enabling lower processing temperatures and thus significantly saving energy. These migration-stable, PFAS-free, and silicone-free additives are suitable for food contact and are compatible with all common polymers, including recycled and bio-based plastics.

This partnership brings together two companies that view sustainability as an integral part of their corporate strategy and are now working together to translate this commitment into measurable solutions for the North American plastics industry.
