An industry veteran with over 25 years industry experience.

Meet our President

LEADERSHIP

Kurt Stahle, President of Simcoe Plastics Ltd, purchased Simcoe Plastics in 2011. This business was a natural fit for Kurt; he started working at his family-owned manufacturing business as a young child, then moving to the injection molding business in his mid-teens.

From the shop floor to the boardroom, Kurt has worked with people at all levels of an organization. He has worked in the automotive and transportation industries and has performed roles in production control, purchasing, product management, and leadership.  Valuable experience gained as well working for a major multi-national resin compounder in a sales and marketing role for 12 years.

Kurt is passionate about meeting his clients’ needs by applying a detailed understanding of shaping vision into the right direction.

The values acquired early in life still ring true today; treat customers with the utmost respect, act with integrity, and share knowledge to advance the industry and problem solve.

How did we get here?

Our History

For over three decades, Simcoe Plastics Ltd. has been providing innovative, sustainable and cost-effective thermoplastic resin products and solutions.

Simcoe Plastics was founded early in 1980 by Bill Wheeler. Bill founded the company to trade in scrap, regrind, reprocessed material (being environmentally conscience…ahead of the times to come), and select prime resins. Bill and his sales representative Milt were well known in the industry and well respected. Eventually though, Bill decided to retire and was faced with the task of selling the business. This was no easy task, as his decision to find a buyer coincided with the financial crisis of 2007/2008. No buyer appeared on the horizon.

Kurt Stahle had been in the plastics industry since 1986, starting his career at the family’s injection molding shop. Kurt learned the business from the ground up. Eventually, Kurt went off to sell resins for a major multi-national compounder

and distributor, enjoying a 12-year career with them. Kurt specialized in automotive supply both on interior and exterior trim as well as under hood and powertrain materials. That company closed during the summer of 2010, and it left Kurt with some time to soul search and plan his next move. It was a family member that connected Bill with Kurt and after a relatively brief meeting, it was known by both parties that it made sense to have Kurt buy the business and carry on with it.

Over the years, much has changed with Simcoe Plastics Limited. But the values of partnering with capable material providers, pricing products fairly, educating and supporting, and treating customers with respect remain.

All this from a from a company located in Central Ontario, named after a lake that both Bill and Kurt learned to sail on...

"Over the years,

much has changed with

Simcoe Plastics Limited,

but the values...remain"
